PURPOSE:
Blood samples are evaluated for five types of leukocytes (Neutrophils,
Eosinophils, Basophils, Lymphocytes, and Monocytes). Each is
given a count and a percentage. White blood cell
differential results assist medical professionals in

neutropenia, eosinophilia, lymphocytosis, or monocytosis.
Results can also be used as a tool to monitor an individuals
cell levels after medical treatment.
